FAQ · HYPERVISUAL Switzerland

Digital Signage questions, answered: buying, renting, choosing a screen, your project and the software.

The questions we hear most, grouped by theme. Each answer comes from the page that covers it in full. Anything specific to your site goes into your brief.

Who we are, where we work.

Who handles installation, software and support?

The same company. Sale or rental, installation, content management and technical support all come from one provider, from the quote through to the teardown. You are never left coordinating between a screen supplier, an integrator and a software vendor.

From Contact

Where do you install LED screens?

Across Switzerland, from our base in Fribourg: Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Basel, Fribourg and everywhere in between, with projects in neighbouring Europe on request.

From Giant LED screens

Do you work outside Switzerland?

Yes. Switzerland is our home market and we operate across Europe. We work in English, French and German.

From Contact

Which holographic technologies does HYPERVISUAL offer?

Three. HYPERVSN 3D produces an image that appears to float in mid-air with no visible screen. HoloBox presents a holographic image inside an enclosed unit. Transparent holographic LED screens display content while remaining see-through. Finer resolution means less transparency, so the two are balanced project by project. HYPERVSN 3D and HoloBox are available to buy or to hire; transparent holographic LED screens are sold.

From Home

Buy or rent.

Can I buy an LED screen from HYPERVISUAL, or only rent one?

Either. Rental suits one-off use (events, trade shows, tours, sports broadcasts) with no capital committed and nothing to store afterwards. Purchase makes sense once a screen runs continuously at a fixed site. HYPERVISUAL does both, and the same team runs the project whichever route you take.

From Home

What does an LED screen rental include?

Delivery, build, calibration, the signal chain, a technician on site when the event needs one, and teardown. One company, one contact, from the quote to the moment the truck leaves.

From Giant LED screens

Can I rent a hologram for an event?

Yes. HYPERVSN fans are rented for trade shows, launches and events, and sold by the unit for permanent installations. Tell us how many you need.

From HYPERVSN 3D

Can I buy a trailer?

Yes, the 7 m²: one trailer with a 3.5 × 2 m screen at P3.9, delivered and handed over to your team. The 15, 21, 28 and 63 m² are for rent only.

From Mobile LED

Can I rent an LED ceiling?

No. An LED ceiling is a permanent installation made to measure for a room: it is sold, designed and installed by our team.

From LED ceiling

Choosing a screen.

Which LED pixel pitch do I need?

It follows the nearest viewer. Under 3 m, fine pitch between P0.9 and P2.6. Between 3 and 6 m, P2.6 to P3.9. Beyond 6 m, P3.9 reads like a fixed picture; outdoors, brightness matters more than pitch. Content, ambient light and budget shift the choice, so we confirm it with you, on your plans or on site if necessary.

From Giant LED screens

Which screen for a window that gets the sun?

One made for it. An ordinary screen gives about 500 nits, not enough behind sunlit glass. A window display gives 1’000 to 5’000 nits; window LED, 3’000 to 5’000. Transparent OLED stays out of the sun.

From Retail

What is the difference between a totem and a kiosk?

A totem is an upright screen on its own base, read from afar. A kiosk is a touchscreen tilted on a stand, from 21.5 to 55 inches, used standing in front of it, within arm’s reach.

From Totems & kiosks

What is an open frame display?

An LCD screen delivered without a housing, on a bare chassis with a VESA mount, made to be built into furniture, a counter or a wall so that only the picture shows.

From Open frame displays

Does an LED wall get hot? Does it make noise?

It draws power and gives off heat, like any large display. We choose panels for the room: fanless ones where silence matters, and we leave the air path a recessed wall needs. The heat load is written into the offer, so your ventilation can account for it.

From Indoor LED

What is the difference between HoloBox and HoloBox Nova?

It is the same box. HoloBox plays the content you give it. HoloBox Nova adds a far more powerful computer and artificial intelligence: its avatar listens and answers.

From HoloBox

The project, step by step.

How does a project unfold?

A site visit if needed, a written proposal, then the build. For a rental, we plan the build and the teardown around your event hours; for a fixed LED wall, the schedule follows your fit-out and your architect. One team, one contact, from the first measurement to the handover.

From Giant LED screens

Who does the joinery and the electrics?

You do, through your fit-out contractor and to our drawings: the recess, the cladding, a dedicated supply and a network point at the screen. We bring the frame, the panels, the signal chain, the calibration and the lifting. All of it is written down before the offer.

From Indoor LED

Do I need a permit for an outdoor LED screen?

For a fixed screen on a façade or a mast, usually yes: the rules depend on the commune and the canton, and some limit brightness or content at night. Check with your commune before the project; the offer is built on the screen you are allowed to install. A rental screen for an event follows the event’s own authorisation.

From Outdoor LED

What happens if a panel fails?

It comes out on its own, from the front when the wall sits against a partition, from the back when there is a service corridor, and is replaced without touching its neighbours. We hold spare panels for the walls we install.

From Indoor LED

Software and data.

Can I drive the content remotely?

Yes. An indoor LED wall can run on DATAVSN, our own CMS hosted in Switzerland: publish, schedule and update from anywhere, with anonymous audience recognition and interactivity as later layers. It stays optional: the wall takes your own sources just as well.

From Indoor LED

What does DATAVSN measure?

As an option, numbers, never people: an anonymous count of passers-by, the stop rate and the attention time, with estimated age and gender brackets, by hour, by content and by site. The image is processed on the player and no face is recognised.

From Shopping centres

How does DATAVSN protect privacy?

DATAVSN measures audiences without identifying anyone. The image is processed on the player; no face is recognised, and only aggregated statistics come out, such as the number of passers-by and the attention time. The operator of the screen, usually our client, must inform people with a notice near each measured screen and is responsible for the measurement at its site.
